Ever try to break a bad habit? Start a new healthy habit? How did you do? The large majority of us fail. We try once, try again and give up. It’s very frustrating.
Some new research may help. It is captured in a new book entitled Change Anything: The New Science of Personal Success by Kerry Patterson and others. He wrote the best seller Crucial Conversations. The authors point out that willpower is just not enough. They propose a series of principles and tactics that, they contend, lead to rapid, profound and sustainable change in one’s behavior. It is a powerful read and makes a lot of sense.
